Youths of Methodist Church in Orji Circuit will be glad the 8th edition of their one night of praise and worship tagged ‘African Night’ recorded yet another success just like other editions.

The event which had new features like Igbo bible reading competition, Best Dressed, Ada/Opara African, best dancer with the funniest side attraction being an eating competition.
In his opening charge, the Youth Work Coordinator and Host mister, Revd Christian E. Udeagha welcomed the youths and parents from various churches who attended the event, reminding them of the theme which was ‘Youths: The light of a generation’.
He urged the youths at the event to be the light everywhere they find themselves.
He later declared the event open on behalf of the circuit presbyter, Very Rev Johnson Mba.
In his welcome address, the circuit youth president, Bro Chinedu Hardy Nwadike thanked God for making the 8th edition of the event a success, praising him for the development the event has witnessed.
“We started eight years ago clapping hands and beating local drums as well as snapping with analogue cameras. Today we have many cameras and the musical instruments are very sophisticated.
More people are now aware of the programme and more souls are also being won for Christ” He said.
The preacher Revd Neo Ejimofor who spoke on theme of the programme, charged the youths to get closer to God so as to radiate His light where ever they find themselves.
The event had youths from various churches ministering while the competitions had Miss Precious Nwankwo emerging as the best winner for the night after clinching the prizes for the best dressed female and Ada Africa as well.
Other winners include Promise Okpara, best dressed male; Chidindu Alozie, Opara Africa;  Godsfavour Ezeji, Igbo Bible reading competition; Joseph Akaerue, eating competition and Lilian Omeyima, best dancer.
Another highlight was a ministered by gospel artiste Joyce who performed at the event with her tack ‘Because You love me’.
The chairman of the planning committee Bro Obinna Okafor thanked the youths, ministers and parents at the event as well as every other person who contributed towards the success of the event, praying that God will replenish them.
