Bongo square will project Imo youths – Emma Duru

The Director General of the newly inaugurated Imo Talent Centre (Bongo Square), Mr. Emma Duru has described the Centre as a strong instrument to project the talents of Imo Youths in the areas of music, acting and related skills.

Speaking in an interview, the DG, Mr. Duru said the state Governor, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha inspired and inaugurated the agency to harness and project talents of Imo youths.
Mr. Duru described the state as a port of call in terms of talent because of the wide range of talents found in Imo youths, adding that talent is the highest export we can get in the state to place Imo in an enviable position in wealth generation.

He disclosed that the centre would focus on bringing talents from the grassroots and package them for international acceptance.

Mr. Duru further stated that proper harnessing and projection of talents of Imo youths would solve the problem of youth unemployment and restiveness as identified talents would create jobs for themselves and employ others.

He said the centre had talent audition on Wednesday for comedians, actors and singers and explained that every month, the centre would project 27 star artistes from the state, a breakdown of which means that each star would emerge from one LGA every month.

The DG of Imo Talent centre also disclosed that the centre would organise a programme for card carrying members of the State today, Friday which would provide entertainment platform where APGA members will stay with the Governor at the former Imo Hotels, Sam Mbakwe Road.

Mr. Duru commended Imo youths for their support for the rescue mission agenda of Governor Okorocha and reminded them that the governor created the Bongo Square to help those of them with talents.
