‘Neagley’ Renewed for Season 2 After Reaching 40 Million Viewers on Prime Video

Prime Video has renewed “Neagley” for a second season following a strong debut for the action series, which is a spinoff of the popular “Reacher” franchise.
The streaming service announced the renewal on Thursday, just weeks after the Maria Sten-led series premiered on September 16. The first season launched on the same day the fourth season finale of “Reacher” was released on Prime Video.
“Neagley” has attracted 40 million viewers globally within its first 13 days, according to Prime Video. The figure makes it the streamer’s fourth most-watched debut for an original series and places its first season among the 10 most-viewed seasons of any Amazon original series to date.
The show has also recorded strong international viewership, with 52 per cent of its audience coming from outside the United States. Prime Video said the series performed particularly well in the United Kingdom, Germany and Brazil.
The renewal will see Maria Sten return as Frances Neagley, a character from Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels. Amazon MGM Studios’ head of global television, Peter Friedlander, praised Sten’s performance and the creative team behind the series following the renewal.
Season 1 follows Neagley after she discovers that a close friend from her past has died in what appears to be a suspicious accident. Determined to uncover the truth and pursue justice, she embarks on a dangerous mission.
The series also features Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, Jasper Jones, Matthew Del Negro and Damon Herriman. Alan Ritchson, who plays Jack Reacher in the parent series, also appears as a guest star.
“Neagley” was created by Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton, who serve as co-showrunners and executive producers.
