Arsenal’s summer transfer plans have taken another turn, with Juventus reportedly unwilling to sell Kenan Yildiz while Gabriel Martinelli’s future at the Emirates remains uncertain.
Mikel Arteta is still looking to strengthen his squad as Arsenal prepare for another Premier League title challenge. The Gunners have already added winger Christos Tzolis and midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, but Arteta has indicated that further additions could still be made before the transfer window closes.
“If we have the right player in the market to make us much better. We are very looking forward to that,” Arteta said when asked about Arsenal’s pursuit of new signings.
Yildiz has emerged as one of Arsenal’s reported attacking targets after the club’s interest in Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior failed to lead to a transfer. However, Juventus are said to have no intention of allowing the 21-year-old Turkey international to leave.
Italian outlet Tutto Juve reports that Yildiz is regarded as “unsellable” by Juventus, with the club wanting to build its next team around the forward. Arsenal are understood to have maintained their interest after making an initial enquiry in June, having also been linked with the player last summer.
Yildiz signed a new contract with Juventus in February that runs until 2030. He scored 10 goals and registered seven assists in 36 Serie A appearances last season, while Juventus were previously reported to value him at around £85 million.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are in talks with Galatasaray over a possible deal for Martinelli. The 25-year-old Brazilian is entering the final year of his Arsenal contract and is understood to have attracted serious interest from the Turkish club.
Arsenal are reportedly negotiating a transfer fee with Galatasaray, but Martinelli’s departure is not expected to be approved until the Gunners secure a replacement. The winger lost his regular starting place to Leandro Trossard last season, although Trossard has since moved to Besiktas. Arsenal’s signing of Tzolis and continued interest in players such as Yildiz could now play a major role in deciding Martinelli’s future.
