Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has expressed confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, saying divine guidance will continue to support the administration as it tackles Nigeria’s challenges and pursues key development projects.

Speaking during an inspection of ongoing bridge projects in Lagos on Thursday, Umahi said he believes Tinubu has the capacity and support needed to steer the country forward beyond the current political cycle. His remarks came as he assessed infrastructure works, including the Carter Bridge, which is set for reconstruction next week.

The minister urged Nigerians to support the federal government’s efforts, particularly in addressing security concerns that have affected different parts of the country. He maintained that every administration faces difficult moments but must be willing to confront them head-on.

“The same God that brought him is going to be there to solve all the problems,” Umahi said, expressing optimism that the government would overcome current challenges.

He noted that no leader wishes to preside over a period of instability, but argued that responsible governance requires decisive action whenever crises emerge. According to him, the Tinubu administration has shown determination in responding to the country’s security issues.

Umahi added that regardless of the causes behind the security situation, whether political or otherwise, he believes the president will receive the wisdom and strength needed to navigate the challenges and deliver solutions.

The minister also voiced confidence in the administration’s infrastructure agenda, insisting that projects initiated under the current government would be completed as planned.

“Your hands that have started this will complete it,” he said while speaking about ongoing federal projects and the administration’s development plans.

On the reconstruction of Carter Bridge in Lagos, Umahi disclosed that the project is expected to be completed within three years. He explained that the work forms part of the federal government’s broader five-year infrastructure strategy aimed at improving transportation and connectivity across the country.
