Nigerian hype man Fisayo Michael has publicly addressed the breakdown of his marriage to actress Anita Joseph, insisting that infidelity from both parties contributed to the end of their union.
The couple, who got married in 2020, reportedly ended their marriage in 2025 after years of public attention around their relationship.
Anita Joseph had earlier announced the separation, alleging infidelity, domestic violence, and substance abuse as key reasons for the collapse of the marriage.
Responding in a video shared on Instagram on Wednesday, MC Fish dismissed the one-sided narrative, claiming that both he and his estranged wife were involved in cheating during the marriage.
“Cheating in marriage, I have experienced it… both parties cheated,” he said, adding that he was not denying his own involvement in the breakdown of the relationship.
He further alleged that if he chose to reveal more details, it would involve multiple individuals, including people within Anita Joseph’s professional circle.
“I am not going to do something that will embarrass the two of us,” he added, saying he would refrain from disclosing further details despite what he described as widespread public misunderstanding of the situation.
MC Fish also claimed that he had already left the marriage months before the public announcement of the separation, stating that he moved out of their home in July 2025, long before the news became public in December.
“She is the one who carried the news outside,” he said, insisting that he had already moved on before the separation became public knowledge.
He further stated that he had cut ties with all “entanglements” connected to the marriage, describing his post-separation phase as a “clean slate.”
Referencing broader discussions around relationship controversies in the public space, MC Fish argued that cheating should not be justified or encouraged, warning against normalising infidelity.
He also expressed frustration over public reactions to the situation, suggesting that many commentators were not fully aware of what transpired within the marriage.
As of the time of filing this report, Anita Joseph has not publicly responded to the latest claims.
