Authorities in Adamawa State have arrested two suspects for allegedly abducting a four-year-old boy and demanding ₦800,000 for his release.

The incident reportedly occurred in Ngballang community, Numan Local Government Area, when the child, identified as Ramadan Ibrahim, went out to play on March 1, 2026, but failed to return home. His father, Umar Ibrahim, reported the disappearance to the Numan Police Division on March 2 after receiving a ransom call a few days later from an unknown number.

According to SP Suleiman Nguroje, the state Police Public Relations Officer, police investigations quickly led to the arrest of the suspects, Sadiq Ali, 19, and Shitu Umar, 23, both from Lafiya in Lamurde Local Government Area. The suspects reportedly confessed to the crime during interrogation.

The case has been handed over to the command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit for further investigation and potential prosecution. Nguroje assured the public that the Adamawa State Police Command remains committed to protecting lives and property across the state.
