Popular Nigerian singer Asake has shared a video of himself performing Umrah in Medina, Saudi Arabia, reaffirming his commitment to Islam.

The “Omo Ope” breakout star posted a clip on social media showing him offering prayers at Raudhatul Jannah, one of the most revered prayer areas inside Masjid an-Nabawi. Known as the “Garden of Paradise,” the spot is located between the resting place of Prophet Muhammad and his historic minbar (pulpit), marked by a distinctive green carpet. The location stretches from the Prophet’s former house under the famous green dome of the mosque to his original pulpit, making it highly significant for worshippers visiting Medina.

In the Instagram post, Asake wrote a simple yet meaningful caption: “Alhamdulillah 🙏🏽,” which translates to “praise be to God.” The post quickly drew attention online, particularly following social media rumours that claimed the singer might eventually convert to Christianity. While Asake did not respond to the prediction, fans interpreted his pilgrimage and public display of worship as a clear reaffirmation of his Islamic faith.

The pilgrimage also comes amid the holy month of Ramadan in 2026, which has seen several Nigerians travel to Saudi Arabia to perform the lesser pilgrimage. Among those spotted performing Umrah are socialite Rahman Jago and influencer Tunde Perry, who are reportedly observing the spiritual exercise alongside Asake.

Fans have reacted positively to Asake’s latest post, praising the singer for publicly embracing his faith and using his platform to inspire others spiritually. The video has since sparked widespread conversation on social media, with many supporters lauding the significance of his pilgrimage.
