Popular Nigerian comedian and content creator Samuel Perry, widely known as Broda Shaggi, has reportedly been hospitalised after sustaining a gunshot injury while filming a comedy skit in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.

The incident was said to have occurred on Sunday afternoon beneath the Sango-Ota bridge in Ota, though the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.

According to a security source who spoke anonymously, the skit maker was injured during the filming of a comedy scene at the location. Members of his production crew reportedly rushed him to a nearby medical facility immediately after the incident.

Further reports indicated that he was later transferred to Duchess Hospital located in the Government Residential Area of Ikeja for further medical attention, where he is currently recovering.

Police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi said officers were immediately dispatched to the hospital to investigate the situation.

“The hospital contacted the police to report that a gunshot victim had been brought to their facility. Detectives and a patrol team were mobilised to the hospital, where they discovered the victim was a skit maker and social media influencer popularly known as Broda Shaggi,” she said.

According to Adebisi, the entertainer was found on a stretcher with a gunshot wound to his thigh when officers arrived.

She noted, however, that the reported location of the incident falls within Sango-Ota in Ogun State and not within Lagos police jurisdiction, although investigations are ongoing.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Police Command said it had not yet received an official report regarding the alleged shooting.
