The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the rescheduled dates for its Ward and Local Government Congresses. The Ward Congress will now hold on Wednesday, 25 February 2026, while the Local Government Congress is set for Thursday, 26 February 2026.
The announcement came in a statement from the APC caucus in Abia State, explaining that last week’s suspension of the exercises was to resolve internal disputes within the state chapter. The party confirmed that unity has now been restored.
The caucus also reiterated that the State Congress will proceed as scheduled on Tuesday, 3 March 2026.
Speculation has swirled over Abia State Governor Alex Otti potentially joining the APC to pursue a second term. However, Otti’s media aides, Ferdinand Ekeoma and Dodoh Okafor, have dismissed these claims.
