Nigerian international Esther Okoronkwo has committed to another year with Canadian club AFC Toronto, following an impressive debut season in the Northern Super League.
The 28-year-old forward joined Toronto on a free transfer in February 2025 and quickly became a key player for coach Marko Milanović’s squad, helping the team finish top of the regular season standings.
Despite their strong league performance, AFC Toronto fell 2-1 to Vancouver Rise FC in the playoff final. Okoronkwo’s contribution was significant, registering eight goals and 11 assists across 20 league appearances.
The striker’s performances have set high expectations for the 2026 season, as the club aims to convert regular-season dominance into playoff success.
Okoronkwo expressed enthusiasm about the new season, vowing to build on her achievements and help AFC Toronto challenge for the league title.
