The Nigerian Army has successfully rescued 86 individuals abducted by Boko Haram and destroyed a major insurgent camp in Borno State, military sources confirmed on Sunday.

The operation, conducted in the northeast, targeted a heavily fortified Boko Haram enclave. According to the army, intelligence-led efforts enabled troops to free hostages and dismantle the terrorists’ operational base, dealing a significant blow to the militant group’s activities in the region.

The rescued victims, who include men, women, and children, have been moved to secure locations for medical care and rehabilitation. Military officials stressed that the mission underscores the Nigerian Army’s commitment to protecting civilians and combating terrorism across the northeast.
