Award-winning Nollywood actress and filmmaker Ruth Kadiri has opened up about her firm decision to keep her private life away from public scrutiny, saying she is determined not to “lose herself” while navigating fame and the demands of the entertainment industry.

Speaking in a recent interview with Jay OnAir, the actress — known for her introspective roles and low-profile lifestyle — explained that preserving her personal happiness is a conscious choice that helps her maintain balance amid her growing career.

“The last thing I want to do as a person is to lose myself in the process of being an entertainer,” Kadiri said.
“I need to be able to keep the wealth of happiness or fulfilment for myself while growing and building what I want to build. And I’m not going to let anybody sway me.”

Kadiri, who is married with two children, said she deliberately maintains a boundary between her family life and her career, describing privacy as a source of peace and fulfilment in an industry driven by exposure.

Though the actress keeps her husband’s identity private, her decision has often drawn admiration from fans who view her as one of Nollywood’s most grounded stars.

Between 2019 and 2022, Kadiri welcomed her two daughters, continuing to manage her film production company while advocating for authenticity and self-preservation in show business.
