Actress and singer Angela Okorie has broken her silence on the raging controversy surrounding a leaked WhatsApp group chat allegedly created during the “Justice for Mohbad” movement. Okorie, in a video shared on her Instagram reel on August 6, 2025, clarified that she had no involvement in the controversial conversations and left the group almost immediately after being added.
She explained that someone she knows had added her to the group chat, but she found the discussions irrelevant and toxic. According to Okorie, the environment didn’t align with her principles, and she opted out within minutes. The person who added her later called to apologize profusely, which she accepted.
The actress took a firm stand, saying she avoids unnecessary drama and prefers to focus on her peace, personal growth, and professional work. “Everybody knows I love and respect Aunty Iyabo,” she stated, referring to Iyabo Ojo, one of the central figures in the Mohbad justice movement. “Everyone also knows I like Naira Marley. Even when people were dragging me, I stood firm.”
Okorie emphasized her support for truth and justice but urged people to stop fueling division and hatred online. “You guys should stop this hatred. Whatever is going on, we will definitely resolve it,” she said. Her statement comes as tensions continue to rise between factions involved in the campaign to seek justice for the late singer Mohbad.
She also reaffirmed that any true human being would naturally want justice for Mohbad, regardless of which side of the social media drama they fall on. “Anybody that is human will definitely want justice for him,” she declared.
