Afrobeats superstar Davido has hinted that he could eventually step away from music to focus on building bigger financial ventures and “making billions.”
The singer made the statement while reacting to a post by Nigerian rapper Erigga on X, where the rapper praised musicians who built their careers without relying on family wealth.
“Shoutout to all the musicians who don’t come from family money and had to grind for every single dollar they earn,” Erigga wrote.
Responding to the message, Davido suggested that his own long-term plans could extend beyond music, saying he would soon leave the industry to focus on making billions.
The remark has sparked interest among fans because Davido remains one of Africa’s most prominent Afrobeats stars, with a career that has combined music, global collaborations and business interests.
Davido, whose career has spanned more than a decade, has previously spoken publicly about wealth, entrepreneurship and his ambitions outside music. His latest comment, however, did not provide a specific timeline for when he might leave music or detail the ventures he intends to pursue.
