Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that his wife, Chioma Adeleke, is now in charge of managing his finances, admitting that he has a habit of spending money recklessly.
The award-winning singer made the revelation in a video that went viral on Wednesday during a conversation with his official streamer, Davreltv, while preparing to travel back to Nigeria.
During the clip, Davido attempted to transfer $4,000 to his personal assistant, Lati, but encountered difficulties accessing his bank account. Unable to complete the transaction, he called Chioma and asked her to send the money on his behalf.
“Hello, hello baby, good morning my wife, my love. Help me send Lati $4,000. I can’t login, I don’t know why, it’s the service here. Alright. We’re taking off now to Naija, I love you,” Davido said during the phone call.
After ending the call, the streamer jokingly asked whether Chioma had taken over control of his finances.
Responding with a smile, the singer admitted that the arrangement was intentional because of his spending habits.
“Of course. You know I’m a reckless spender. Na she dey arrange everything. Na my life coordinator be that,” Davido said.
The video has since sparked widespread reactions across social media, with many fans praising the couple’s relationship and applauding Chioma for helping the singer maintain financial discipline.
