Nigerian content creator and streamer Carter Efe has expressed disappointment after revealing that his application for a United States visa was unsuccessful, saying the experience left him feeling “trapped” in Nigeria.
The social media personality made the revelation during a recent livestream, where he spoke candidly about the challenges of travelling abroad after his visa application was denied.
Addressing his audience, Carter Efe lamented the situation, saying many Nigerians face restrictions that make international travel difficult.
“Chat, I won’t lie to you. We’re trapped in this country. Yes, in case you don’t know, we’re trapped. We can’t go anywhere we want. We can’t go anywhere we want, bro. We’re finished. We’re doomed. I swear to God,” he said.
His comments came shortly after popular American streamer Kai Cenat disclosed that he had tried to help Carter Efe secure a U.S. visa. According to Kai Cenat, despite his efforts, the application was not approved, preventing the Nigerian entertainer from travelling to the United States.
The visa refusal has since generated widespread reactions across social media, with many Nigerians sharing similar experiences and discussing the challenges associated with obtaining visas to countries such as the United States.
Neither Carter Efe nor U.S. immigration authorities disclosed the specific reason for the visa denial. Visa applications are assessed individually, and decisions are often made based on confidential immigration requirements without detailed public explanations.
The incident has renewed conversations about international travel restrictions, visa approval processes and the hurdles many Nigerians encounter when seeking entry into foreign countries.
