Troops supporting Operation FANSAN YANMA have carried out a precision airstrike that reportedly neutralised several suspected terrorists in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Security sources, as cited by counter-insurgency analyst Zagazola Makama, said the operation took place on Monday at about 5:10 p.m. following credible intelligence on terrorist movements around the Kidandan axis.

According to the report, aerial surveillance assets were deployed for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations to track suspected militant activity in the area.

During the operation, four suspected terrorists were first observed moving on motorcycles and placed under continuous aerial monitoring. Two additional motorcycles were later sighted along a route believed to lead to a terrorist assembly point.

The monitored movements reportedly guided troops to a suspected elevated hideout within Giwa, where further coordination of the operation took place.

Security sources said the aerial platform maintained close surveillance of the location before a precision strike was executed on the target.

The strike reportedly resulted in the neutralisation of several suspected terrorists, while others fled the scene in disarray.

Authorities say the operation is part of ongoing efforts under Operation FANSAN YANMA to disrupt terrorist networks and deny them freedom of movement across vulnerable corridors in the North-West.

Military officials have not released an official casualty figure, but intelligence-led air operations have continued to intensify across Kaduna and surrounding states in recent months as part of broader counter-terrorism efforts.
