Abia State has been selected to host the National Products Expo 2026, one of the flagship events of the National Products Fair, a nationwide initiative packaged by the Made in Nigeria Project Office to promote indigenous manufacturing, innovation and investment.

The five-day expo will be organised in partnership with the Abia State Government through the Ministry of Industry and SMEs and will take place at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia. The event is expected to attract manufacturers, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), investors, financial institutions, development partners and government agencies from across Nigeria.

As a major component of the National Products Fair, the expo is designed to expand market opportunities for Nigerian businesses, boost confidence in locally manufactured products and stimulate industrial development.

Speaking at the official launch, Commissioner for Industry and SMEs, Mazi Michael Enyinnaya Akpara, said the event would strengthen Abia’s position as a leading destination for trade, manufacturing and investment while giving local businesses access to wider national and international markets.

Executive Director and National Coordinator of the Made in Nigeria Project Office, Hon. Nwabueze George, described the National Products Expo as a key platform for showcasing the country’s manufacturing potential and supporting the growth of indigenous enterprises.

“The National Products Expo is one of the flagship events under the National Products Fair. It brings together manufacturers, innovators and investors on one platform to showcase the quality of Nigerian products, encourage collaboration and open new opportunities for economic growth,” George said.

He added that the Made in Nigeria Project Office established the National Products Fair to create a sustainable platform for Nigerian businesses to promote their products, build strategic partnerships and improve competitiveness in both domestic and international markets.

The expo will feature product exhibitions, investment forums, business networking sessions, innovation showcases, branding and packaging clinics, as well as capacity-building seminars. Organisers expect thousands of participants from across the country, making it one of the largest gatherings of manufacturers and business stakeholders in Nigeria.
