Mahmud Sadis Buba, a 30-year-old grassroots politician from Kaduna State, has officially declared his ambition to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.

The young politician, aligned with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), announced his decision after obtaining the party’s Expression of Interest and nomination forms, becoming one of the early contenders for the seat.

Buba shared the announcement on his verified Facebook page, describing his political journey as one rooted in resilience, hard work and grassroots engagement.

“Today, I humbly announce that I have obtained my nomination form to contest for the House of Representatives, Sabon Gari Federal Constituency,” he wrote.

“From my beginnings as a driver to this moment, my journey has been built on hard work, resilience, and the belief that every individual — no matter their background — can rise to serve.”

Born on August 2, 1995, in Sabon Gari, Zaria, Buba previously worked as a driver before venturing fully into politics. His background has become a central part of his public image, with supporters presenting him as a symbol of social mobility and youth participation in governance.

The APC aspirant currently serves as chairman of the “Tinubu–Uba Sani Agenda ’27” support group and has steadily gained visibility within Kaduna political circles.

Over time, he has been seen alongside several influential political figures, including President Bola Tinubu, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai, Bello El-Rufai and Seyi Tinubu.

In his campaign message, Buba promised to deliver people-oriented representation and prioritise development across the constituency if elected into the National Assembly.

“I am stepping forward with a clear vision: to represent the people of Sabon Gari with honesty, dedication, and true leadership,” he stated.

“Your voice will be heard, your concerns will matter, and together we will work towards real development and opportunities for all.”

He described the campaign as a collective movement for the future of Sabon Gari, calling on constituents to support his ambition.

“This campaign is not just about me — it is about us, our future, and the progress of our constituency. Sabon Gari, let’s rise as one,” he added.

His declaration has already attracted reactions from political observers and public figures. Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, described Buba’s ambition as an inspiration for Nigerian youths.

“Hon Mahmud Sadis Buba is 30 years old. He bought his form to vie for the Reps seat in Zaria. A challenge to the youth,” Shehu Sani wrote on X.

As part of his consultations, Buba has met with top APC leaders, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Vice President Kashim Shettima, presenting his nomination forms and seeking political support.

Speaking after meeting Akpabio, the aspirant described his candidacy as a commitment to “purposeful leadership” and effective representation.

He also revealed that Vice President Shettima offered him prayers and encouragement during their meeting, describing the gesture as a major source of motivation.

If successful in 2027, Buba would rank among the youngest lawmakers in Nigeria’s National Assembly and could also become the shortest person ever elected into the Nigerian parliament.
