Tension gripped parts of Jigawa State after residents intercepted a vehicle allegedly carrying suspected explosive materials in Kazaure Local Government Area, raising fresh concerns over security threats in the region.

The incident reportedly happened around 1:00 a.m. on April 10 at Gada, an outskirt area of Kazaure town, after vigilant community members flagged down the suspicious vehicle.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the development in a post on X, noting that the vehicle, a Volkswagen Golf, was found loaded with items suspected to be explosive materials.

According to early accounts, the occupants of the vehicle fled immediately when confronted by residents, abandoning both the car and its contents at the scene.

Community members were said to have quickly alerted security operatives, who later evacuated the vehicle and recovered the suspected materials for further investigation.

Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact nature of the items, as investigations are ongoing to determine whether the materials are genuinely explosive or otherwise.

Security sources also confirmed that efforts are underway to track down the fleeing occupants and establish their identities and intentions.
