The Super Eagles will defend their Unity Cup crown this summer, facing India, Jamaica, and Zimbabwe in a four-nation tournament at Charlton Athletic’s The Valley stadium in South London from May 26 to 30, 2026.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed the fixtures on Wednesday, noting that Nigeria will open the tournament against Zimbabwe on May 26 in a rematch of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification clash. On the same day, India and Jamaica will contest the second semi-final. The winners of both matches will meet in the final on May 30.
NFF President Ibrahim Gusau described the tournament as “another opportunity to see the Super Eagles compete at the highly exciting and entertaining” event. He emphasized that while Nigeria enters as perennial champions, the team will not underestimate the other participants.
The Unity Cup celebrates Afrocentric and global diaspora communities and promises an “electric mix of entertainment and culture,” replicating the success of the 2025 edition, which Nigeria also won.
The tournament comes amid intensified preparations for the 2026 World Cup, for which Nigeria failed to qualify after losing to DR Congo in the African play-offs. At the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, the Super Eagles finished third, securing a podium finish despite missing out on the global tournament.
