Abakaliki, Ebonyi State – Minister of Works David Umahi has claimed that divine intervention is shaping the administration of President Bola Tinubu, urging Southeast leaders and communities to support the current government.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Eke Obinagu–Emene flyover, Umahi said he received a revelation from God concerning the president, stressing that the Southeast region should no longer lament marginalisation since Tinubu assumed office in 2023.

“God has spoken to me that His mighty hands are upon President Bola Tinubu. Our people must be strategic. The marginalisation we’re talking about is over. For the first time, we’re in the helm of affairs,” Umahi said.

The minister highlighted Tinubu’s efforts to appoint individuals from the Southeast to key positions in his cabinet, describing it as a sign of inclusivity and opportunity for the region.

Addressing the long-standing desire among Ndigbo for a president from the Southeast, Umahi encouraged collaboration with the current administration to advance that goal. He also revealed that all Southeast governors stand firmly behind Tinubu, calling on political leaders in the region to publicly declare their support.

“I want to plead with Southeast leaders to be bold in convincing our people on the need to vote for Mr President. If you’re a leader in the Southeast and you’re not vocal in the declaration, then you’re not for us,” Umahi added.

The minister’s statements come amid growing discussions about regional representation in Nigeria’s political landscape, with emphasis on unity and strategic engagement with the federal government.
