Kieran Trippier is set to leave Newcastle United at the end of the season, bringing to a close one of the most influential chapters in the club’s modern history.
The experienced right-back will depart when his contract expires this summer, ending a spell that reshaped both his career and Newcastle’s trajectory. Since arriving from Atletico Madrid in January 2022, Trippier has been central to the club’s rise from relegation danger to domestic and European relevance.
His arrival marked the beginning of a new era following the club’s Saudi-backed takeover, with Newcastle struggling in the bottom three at the time. What followed was a rapid transformation, driven in part by Trippier’s leadership, consistency, and elite-level experience.

He also paid tribute to manager Eddie Howe, who brought him to the club after working together at Burnley, highlighting the trust that defined their partnership.
