The Imo State Police Command has stepped up community engagement efforts with transport workers and residents, rolling out a combined security and health outreach to mark this year’s National Police Day in Owerri.

The initiative, carried out in partnership with the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), brought together law enforcement officials, medical professionals, and members of the public at Arugo Motor Park for a day of sensitisation and free healthcare services.

According to a statement by Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Henry Okoye, the programme focused on curbing electoral violence while promoting safer road practices and healthier lifestyles among motorists and residents.
