Nigerian media personality Toke Makinwa has responded sharply to a social media user who questioned how she chooses to share images of her daughter online.

The controversy began after a Snapchat user criticised Makinwa for posting only partial images of her child such as her legs, arms, and back rather than showing her face or keeping her entirely off social media.

The user argued that her approach to privacy appeared inconsistent, suggesting that if she truly wanted to protect her child’s identity, she should avoid posting the child altogether. He also implied that sharing partial images while withholding full visibility could be seen as contradictory.

Reacting to the comment, Makinwa dismissed the criticism, insisting that her social media page is under her control and that she has the right to decide what she shares.

She challenged the commenter’s focus on her child, questioning why anyone would go to such lengths over a child that is not theirs, and described the message as unnecessary.

“Exactly, not your circus, boo! Do whatever works for you, and it’s my page and not yours,” she wrote. “This long epistle over a child’s identity that is not yours is so bizarre. Get help.”

The exchange has since sparked conversations online about parental privacy, social media boundaries, and how public figures choose to share aspects of their family life.
