Nigerian-UK based cleric Tobi Adegboye has sparked political conversations after he was spotted at a strategic stakeholders meeting in London, widely linked to support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The meeting, organized by the City Boy Movement, was held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, and brought together prominent figures, including Seyi Tinubu and socialite Cubana Chiefpriest.
A video from the event showed Pastor Adegboye, Seyi Tinubu, and other attendees singing the Nigerian national anthem, while another clip captured the cleric in conversation with the president’s son, further fueling speculation about his political alignment.
The gathering was used to mobilize Nigerian diaspora support for Tinubu’s re-election campaign, coming at a time when the president is on a state visit to the United Kingdom.
The event also highlighted growing engagement between political actors and influential diaspora groups, as well as religious and social figures.
Earlier, on March 18, Cubana Chiefpriest shared clips of himself at Nigeria House in London alongside the president and Seyi Tinubu, showing moments of interaction and support.
In one of the videos, President Tinubu was seen entering a luxury vehicle before being driven away, while another clip showed Chiefpriest engaging with Seyi Tinubu and others after the president’s departure.
In his post, Cubana Chiefpriest reiterated his backing for the president, declaring that “there will be no vacancy in the presidential villa until 2031,” signaling strong support for Tinubu’s continued leadership.
The London events underscore increasing political mobilization within the diaspora as key figures rally support ahead of future elections.
Observers say the involvement of religious leaders and public influencers in such gatherings may play a significant role in shaping political opinions among Nigerians both at home and abroad.
