A devastating road accident on the Damaturu-Maiduguri highway has claimed the lives of five young members of the Zayi family, all staff of the College of Administration, Management and Technology (CAMTECH) in Potiskum, Yobe State. The crash also left five others injured, sending shockwaves through the Potiskum community.
Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni described the incident as “terrifying, sad, and devastating” in a statement released on Thursday through his media aide. “This is a sad, very unfortunate and a trying moment for the family and the entire state,” he said, praying for the souls of the deceased and a speedy recovery for those injured.
Senator Musa Mustapha, representing Yobe East Senatorial District, extended condolences to the Zayi family and the CAMTECH community. “On behalf of the good people of Yobe East, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Zayi family and the management and staff of CAMTECH Potiskum. While praying for Allah’s forgiveness for the departed, I equally pray for the speedy recovery of the five injured,” he said.
Locals described the tragedy as a huge loss, highlighting ongoing concerns over road safety on the Damaturu-Maiduguri highway.
