As Muslims prepare for Eid-el-Fitr celebrations on March 19 and 20, the Delta State Police Command has announced a statewide “strategic deployment” of personnel to maintain peace and security.

The directive was issued by the Commissioner of Police, Aina Adesola, and communicated in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe. The command assured residents and Muslim faithful of adequate security measures to protect lives and property, as well as ensure the free flow of traffic during the festivities.

According to the statement, a comprehensive security arrangement involving conventional police officers, tactical units, and other operational assets has been put in place at Eid prayer grounds and key locations across the state.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations has also been tasked with ensuring effective coordination and supervision of all deployments before, during, and after the celebrations.

Residents were advised to remain law-abiding and vigilant, and to promptly report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
