Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has officially begun his second term in office following a swearing-in ceremony at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka.

The ceremony drew prominent guests from within and outside the state, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, and elder statesmen such as former Commonwealth Secretary-General Chief Emeka Anyaoku. Traditional ruler Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, was also in attendance.

Soludo arrived at the venue at 11:18 am and took the oath of allegiance at 11:50 am, followed immediately by the oath of office, which lasted about five minutes. His wife, Dr Mrs Nonye Soludo, stood beside him throughout the proceedings.

By 11:55 am, Soludo signed the oaths in the presence of the Chief Judge of Anambra State, officially marking the start of his second term, which will run until 2030.
