Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, on Tuesday, March 17.

Photos from the meeting have gone viral online, showing the Afrofusion star, dressed in a well-tailored dark blue kaftan, standing alongside the governor in what appeared to be a cordial engagement. Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, was accompanied by his father, Samuel Ogulu, and popular music executive Soso Soberekon.

Details of the discussion remain undisclosed. However, insiders suggest the visit may be linked to potential developmental projects in Rivers State, given Burna Boy’s roots in the region.

This is not Burna Boy’s first visit to the Rivers State Government House. In 2021, he met with former governor Nyesom Wike after reaching a major career milestone. That same year, following his Grammy win, Burna Boy was honoured with the Distinguished Service Star of Rivers State (DSSRS), one of the state’s highest recognitions.
