Coordinated raids leave one dead, four wounded, and several kidnapped as security agencies intensify pursuit

Armed bandits carried out coordinated attacks in Maradun and Zurmi Local Government Areas of Zamfara State, resulting in one death, four injuries, and multiple abductions.

According to local sources, the first attack occurred on February 10 at around 6 pm in Kaya Faru village, Maradun LGA. Gunmen shot and injured Bello Yari and three other residents before fleeing to unknown hideouts. Security operatives responded promptly, evacuating the victims to the General Hospital in Talata Mafara for treatment.

Earlier the same day, at approximately 1 am, suspected bandits attacked the Sanyawa area of Moriki District in Zurmi LGA. During the raid, Lawali Musa was shot dead, and several residents were abducted to undisclosed locations. Security forces quickly deployed to the area, recovered the deceased, and took his body to General Hospital, Moriki, for post-mortem examination.

Security Response and Manhunt

Authorities have launched a manhunt to apprehend the attackers, while efforts are ongoing to rescue the abducted victims and restore safety to affected communities.
