Ogun State Police have arrested a man, identified as Gafaru Rasaki, after he was found in possession of four human heads in Sagamu. The arrest was confirmed in a statement released on Thursday by the state police command’s Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi.
Officers from the Shakura Division apprehended Rasaki on 21 January 2026. During questioning, he admitted to exhuming the human remains from a cemetery, a serious violation of Nigerian law.
Babaseyi said the recovered remains were secured by the police, and Rasaki has been charged to court following the conclusion of investigations. The police condemned the act as a grave disregard for human dignity and underscored their commitment to bringing offenders to justice.
“This arrest highlights the diligence of our operatives in curbing criminal activities that shock the conscience of society,” Babaseyi added.
Authorities are urging the public to report any suspicious activities related to grave desecration or the illegal handling of human remains.
