United Kingdom – Nigerian content creator Kolu has reportedly been arrested in the United Kingdom following a tense altercation with UK immigration authorities at an airport.
The incident occurred on Wednesday as Kolu attempted to board a flight back to Nigeria. According to popular Nigerian musician Candy Bleakz, who sponsored Kolu’s travel, the content creator could not locate his passport, prompting a confrontation with immigration officials.
Speaking in a video shared on her Instagram page, Candy Bleakz explained the situation: “I already explained to Kolu that he is going to the UK on my sponsorship, and if he does not return to Nigeria, it will have serious implications for me. As we prepared to board, Kolu couldn’t find his passport. I asked him to calm down and search thoroughly. But instead of cooperating, he started arguing with the immigration officers.”
Candy Bleakz added that she has been at the station since the morning, trying to prevent Kolu from being deported, which could negatively affect his passport status.
“I have been communicating with them because I don’t want them to return Kolu to Nigeria through deportation,” she said.
The exact legal status of Kolu’s arrest and potential charges have not yet been disclosed by UK authorities.
