A Kano-based businessman, Alhaji Rabiu Salisu, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Rukubi Village, Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. The Nasarawa State Police Command confirmed the abduction on Friday.

The incident reportedly occurred around 4:30 pm while Salisu was travelling out of Rukubi Village. The case was reported by Murtala Abubakar of Olam Company, prompting an immediate police response.

Authorities said the Divisional Police Officer of Ekye Division quickly mobilised officers, working alongside local vigilante groups to secure the area and track the assailants. Police have combed surrounding bushes and are continuing intensive search operations to locate Salisu and apprehend the kidnappers.

“The Divisional Police Officer of Ekye Division, on receipt of the report, mobilised a team of policemen in collaboration with local vigilantes to the scene,” the police statement confirmed.

The command has urged residents to provide any information that could assist in the rescue operation, stressing that public cooperation is critical to ensuring Salisu’s safe return.

The incident adds to a growing concern over kidnappings in Nasarawa State, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the region.
