Former Chief of Defence Staff and current Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), has revealed that he is in the process of joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), signalling his formal entry into partisan politics.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Musa described himself as being “in political transition” and expressed gratitude to the APC for providing him the platform to serve first as Chief of Defence Staff and now as Minister of Defence.
“I’ve not transitioned yet. I’m in transition. I think I’ll become a politician, a member of the APC, definitely,” he said.
The former military leader also pledged unwavering support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, affirming his readiness to back the president in every way possible. “Mr President needs all support, totally,” Musa added.
His potential shift into party politics highlights the growing trend of retired military officers taking active roles in Nigeria’s political landscape.
