Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal set a new milestone on Monday night despite his team’s 2-1 LaLiga defeat to Girona, becoming the first player in the current season across Europe’s top five leagues to complete 100 successful dribbles.
According to OptaJose, Yamal attempted 199 dribbles, completing 100, placing him 26 ahead of RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, who has successfully completed 74 out of 138 dribbles.
The 18-year-old Spain international has been a revelation for Barcelona since his promotion to the first team under former manager Xavi Hernandez, impressing fans and pundits alike with his agility, vision, and daring runs.
Yamal will now aim to maintain his form under Hansi Flick as Barcelona prepares to face Levante in their next LaLiga clash this weekend, hoping to turn personal milestones into team success.
