The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has established a 50-member Wise Men and Women Policy and Manifesto Committee to steer the development of a people-centred and forward-looking policy framework for national governance. The move, approved by the party’s National Working Committee, was formally endorsed by ADC National Chairman, Senator David Mark.

The committee brings together a distinguished group of Nigerians from diverse sectors, including former public office holders, academics, technocrats, policy experts, civil society leaders, and other professionals. Its members are tasked with crafting a manifesto that reflects the aspirations of Nigerians while positioning the ADC as a credible alternative for responsible leadership and national development.

Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has been appointed chairman of the committee, with Professor Pat Utomi as deputy chairman and Salihu Lukman as secretary. Other notable members include Senator Gershon Bassey, Senator J. J. Akpan Udo-Udeghe, Ambassador Abiye Mohammed, Professor Ibrahim Garba, Dr Okey Ezegwu, Professor Chidi Odinkalu, AVM Sadique Abubakar, Dr Otive Igbuzor, and Ms Yemi Adamolekun, among others.

A statement from the ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, highlighted that the committee draws on members’ extensive experience in governance, economic management, social development, security, and democratic reform. The party emphasised that Nigeria’s challenges require policies anchored on competence, integrity, and national consensus.

The formal inauguration of the committee is scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, at 12 noon at the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja. The party expressed confidence that the group will produce a credible and actionable manifesto capable of addressing the real needs of Nigerians.
