Reality TV star and Big Brother Naija winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has spoken out after a viral video showed her in a violent altercation at a hotel in Abuja.
The incident, which trended on social media earlier this week, captured Phyna engaged in a heated physical fight with another woman in a hotel lobby.
Addressing the controversy on her Instagram Story, Phyna confirmed the clash but claimed it stemmed from a theft incident involving a close friend, who she alleged had repeatedly stolen from her.
According to the entertainer, the fight escalated after she confronted the alleged thief, leading to chaos when the woman reportedly returned with “touts” to attack her.
“The video circulating was recorded after the fight,” Phyna wrote. “I was heading to the station when the girl in question brought touts to the hotel. The girl keeps stealing from me. She stole again yesterday and got caught. While trying to sort it, it led to a fight. Check that door, even the girl, blood full. Make una pray make she sha survive.”
The former reality star added that her opponent is currently hospitalized and could face legal consequences once discharged.
“Well, when she wakes up, she will go chill in prison. She’s currently in the hospital. Me, I dey hotel dey chill,” Phyna stated.
The altercation has generated widespread reactions online, with fans divided over her explanation — some condemning the violence while others defended her right to confront betrayal.
Phyna, known for her fiery personality and outspokenness, has previously courted controversy but maintains that she was acting in self-defence in this case.
