Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has claimed that Victor Osimhen’s decision-making in front of goal cost Galatasaray additional chances in their Champions League victory over Liverpool on Tuesday night.

Osimhen struck from the penalty spot to hand the Turkish side a 1–0 win at Rams Park, but Henry argued during his CBS Sports analysis that the Nigerian forward could have created more scoring opportunities had he passed to teammates instead of going alone on several occasions.

“They really fought for every ball until the end and looked dangerous on the counter-attack,” Henry said. “If Osimhen had been a little less selfish at times, they could have scored a few more goals. A few times, he might have given the ball away to one of his teammates. But he took the penalty really well.”

Henry, however, praised the overall effort of Okan Buruk’s men, insisting Galatasaray proved once again that they can trouble Europe’s biggest clubs when playing at home.

“On a good day, Galatasaray can beat any team,” the Frenchman added. “I said before the match, they can bother Liverpool — and they did. We have to give them credit.”

The victory was a statement result for the Turkish champions, who continue to make headlines in the group stages of the competition.
