President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday declared that Nigeria’s diversity remains its greatest strength, not a weakness, as he joined Governor Hope Uzodinma in Owerri, Imo State, to inaugurate a string of landmark projects.

The President commissioned the Owerri–Mbaise–Umuahia Interstate Road, the Assumpta Twin Flyover, and the 6,000-capacity Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre. He also presented Uzodinma’s new book, A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria, describing it as an important record of leadership and accountability.

“These projects are more than brick and mortar. They are symbols of progress, resilience, and a shared commitment to unity. They represent our Renewed Hope Agenda in action — connecting communities, opening new opportunities, and showing that no part of Nigeria will be left behind,” Tinubu said.

The President dismissed claims of religious persecution in Nigeria, calling them “a lie from the pit of hell.” He insisted that churches, mosques, and citizens of all faiths will continue to stand as “pillars of unity” and urged Nigerians not to allow “outsiders to define us.”

Tinubu also pointed to what he called “signs of economic recovery” under his administration: second-quarter growth at 4.23%, inflation at its lowest in three years, external reserves climbing to $42 billion, and surging exports. “These are not abstract numbers. They show Nigerians are producing, competing, and building a nation of pride and purpose,” he added.

Taking a swipe at the opposition, Tinubu said those who “wasted 16 years” had lost their chance, accusing them of broken promises, failed infrastructure projects, and corruption. He acknowledged the APC’s imperfections but maintained the ruling party was “purposeful” and committed to ensuring Nigeria did not “return to the wasted years of drift.”

Concluding his address, the President assured Nigerians that the next decade would bring “renewal and stability” for the nation. Quoting in Igbo, he said: “Nke anyi ga-eme, ga-adi mma — what we do together will endure in goodness.”
