Afrobeats queen Tiwa Savage has put an end to years of speculation about her relationship with Wizkid, clarifying that while she admires the singer, the rumours of a romance between them are untrue.
The 44-year-old star recently caused a stir after revealing in an interview that she once dated a public figure whose preference for privacy forced her to keep the relationship secret. Her remarks reignited speculation that the mystery man was Wizkid, with whom she has shared close professional and personal moments on stage.
However, speaking to The Breakfast Club, Tiwa Savage dismissed the claims.
“Shoutout to Wizkid. I love and respect him but he isn’t the one I was referring to. I said the person was a public figure but it’s not him,” she said.
The singer, who is also a mother of one, chose not to disclose the identity of the celebrity she dated, leaving fans with more questions than answers.
Rumours of a relationship between Tiwa Savage and Wizkid date back several years, fuelled by their undeniable chemistry in music videos, joint performances, and public appearances. Both artists, however, have consistently denied being romantically involved.
