Nigerian influencer Priscilla Ojo, daughter of Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo, has opened up about her dramatic childbirth experience, revealing that her son’s early arrival left no room for the glamorous hospital content she had planned. The 24-year-old welcomed her first child, Rakeem Ayomide Mkambala, on Sunday, August 24, 2025, with her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux.
In a lighthearted Snapchat post on Monday, Priscilla recounted how labour pains began suddenly at 3 a.m., forcing her to rush to the hospital in panic mode. “Contractions isn’t a joke. All plans to slay at the hospital and create content were cancelled,” she wrote, poking fun at how her “Sabi Girl” image took a back seat to the raw reality of delivery.
She also revealed that baby Rakeem decided to arrive ahead of schedule, shattering her expectations that he would share a birthday with his father, Juma Jux. “Me: Rakeem, your due date is the same as Papa. Rakeem: Please, this woman, I want my day alone. Sorry my love, your son wants to shine alone,” she teased, adding a playful hashtag for her husband.
The announcement comes after months of anticipation. The couple confirmed their pregnancy in July with a joint Instagram post that went viral, later throwing a lavish blue-themed gender reveal party in Tanzania. Their union has become one of Africa’s most talked-about celebrity marriages of 2025, blending Nollywood glamour with East African stardom.
In the build-up to her delivery, Priscilla was also celebrated with a grand baby shower in Canada, attended by Iyabo Ojo, actress Lola Alao, and close friends. Videos from the event trended across social media, showing the young entrepreneur glowing in anticipation of motherhood.
Priscilla and Juma Jux tied the knot earlier this year, with wedding ceremonies held between February and May in both Nigeria and Tanzania. Their cross-continental love story has earned them massive fan bases on both sides, and their son Rakeem is already a social media sensation, surpassing 150,000 Instagram followers within 24 hours of his birth.
For Priscilla, the reality of childbirth may have wrecked her “slay plans,” but her story resonates with many mothers who found humor in her candid confession. With her mother Iyabo Ojo now proudly embracing grandmotherhood, the Ojo-Jux household is already being hailed as Africa’s newest celebrity power family.
