Nollywood’s outspoken actor, Uche Maduagwu, has stirred fresh controversy after defending Judy Austin against allegations of using charms on Yul Edochie, insisting the actor fell for her because she treated him with reverence and respect he didn’t get from his first marriage.
Maduagwu, known for his bold takes on celebrity relationships, argued that Yul’s decision to remain with Judy stemmed from emotional satisfaction and not diabolical manipulation. He claimed Judy’s consistent admiration and loyalty gave Yul a sense of validation that he lacked in his union with May Edochie.
Highlighting his opinion on marital dynamics, Uche suggested that many modern marriages fail because wives stop seeing their husbands as “kings,” contradicting traditional values. He pointed out that some women change after marriage, taking their partners for granted—something he says Judy never did with Yul.
“I’m not saying what Judy did was right, I’m angry she even got pregnant for Yul,” Maduagwu said in a viral video. “But she didn’t use juju. She just gave him something many men don’t get anymore—respect. That’s why he’s happy.”
The actor went on to call the ongoing drama a wake-up call for married women to reassess how they treat their husbands. According to him, men are often emotionally neglected in marriage but keep quiet because society teaches them to bottle things up.
