Victor Osimhen’s highly anticipated move to Galatasaray is expected to be officially unveiled before the end of this week, following the final stages of a €75 million agreement with Napoli. The Nigerian striker, who netted 64 goals in 108 appearances for the Serie A side, will become the Turkish Süper Lig’s most expensive signing once the deal is ratified.

Galatasaray journalist Haluk Yürekli broke the news, confirming that the deal has been finalized, with €40 million set to be paid upfront and the remaining €35 million to be settled in two structured installments backed by a bank guarantee. Osimhen’s transfer is expected to be completed within the next 72 hours, with club officials already preparing for a grand unveiling in Istanbul.

The 26-year-old forward had previously been linked with clubs in the Premier League and Saudi Pro League but opted for Galatasaray’s ambitious project following several closed-door meetings with his representatives and club president Dursun Özbek. His move signals the club’s intent to compete on the European stage after lifting the Turkish league title last season.

Osimhen is expected to lead Galatasaray’s frontline in the UEFA Champions League campaign, where the club aims to surpass its 2023/2024 Round of 16 finish. The deal is also seen as a strategic market play, as Galatasaray seeks to re-establish its dominance in international football and strengthen its African fan base.

Sources close to the club also confirmed that Galatasaray will shift focus to finalizing the signing of Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson immediately after Osimhen’s deal is completed. Ederson’s agents met with top club executive Abdullah Kavukçu in Istanbul last week, and contract terms have reportedly been agreed in principle.

The double move for Osimhen and Ederson would represent one of the boldest transfer windows in Galatasaray’s recent history. If concluded, it would see the Turkish side invest well over €100 million in reinforcing key positions ahead of their European ambitions.

Osimhen joined Napoli from Lille in 2020 for a then-record €70 million and played a pivotal role in delivering the club’s historic 2022/2023 Serie A title. His transfer to Turkey marks a new chapter in his career and a massive statement of intent from Galatasaray.
