A forum on the integration of artificial intelligence in journalism is scheduled to take place in Yaoundé on 25 July 2025, bringing together media professionals, journalism students, and digital practitioners. The event, titled Lunch With the Press, will be held at Civic Watch, Face Sonnel TKC, from 3:00PM to 5:00PM (15H–17H).

The session will focus on the theme “Integrating AI in Journalism”, and will examine how artificial intelligence is being applied in news production, research, and editorial decision-making.

Speakers include Chinedu Hardy Nwadike, a media professional based in Nigeria, and Dr Herve Tiwa, a Cameroonian AI researcher. They will present perspectives on the practical application of AI in journalism, ethical implications, and how journalists can adapt to emerging digital tools.

The event is organised in partnership with #defyhatenow, 237Check, and the Nkafu Policy Institute. It is open to journalists, media organisations, and members of the public interested in the intersection of technology and journalism.

According to organisers, the forum will include an interactive segment, allowing participants to engage with the speakers and explore AI tools relevant to their work.
