Esther Nwachukwu, popularly known as Esther Sky, has stirred social media reactions after urging May Edochie to officially drop her estranged husband’s surname, saying there’s “nothing special about the Edochie name” and that May has already outgrown it.
Her comment follows escalating drama within the Edochie household, especially after Linc Edochie’s wife, Yinka, allegedly leaked May’s private numbers online. The online backlash has been fierce, with many accusing Yul’s siblings, including actress Rita Edochie, of aligning against May.
Esther Sky, in a viral Instagram video posted on June 23, 2025, did not hold back. “You’re winning on your own. Drop Yul Edochie’s name so you can have peace. If it’s legal documents that are the issue, go to court,” she advised. “There’s no prestige in a name that brings you pain. Start a new chapter.”
She went further, claiming the entire Edochie clan has turned on May. “Yul’s siblings have clearly taken sides. The new wife couldn’t have attacked May online unless she was encouraged. They’re having secret meetings, plotting behind her back,” she alleged.
Esther also called out legendary Nollywood actor Pete Edochie, demanding he intervene to end the escalating family rift. “With all due respect, sir, you must put an end to this madness. This is your family. Speak up. It’s gone too far,” she said in the video.
