Nollywood actor and controversial public figure Yul Edochie has revealed why his appearance fee for events is set at a staggering ₦20 million, claiming that he never attends alone but arrives spiritually accompanied by ancestral forces from Nteje and Umudioka.

In a bold Instagram post on Monday, June 16, 2025, Edochie explained the spiritual significance he brings to any occasion he graces, especially events tied to Igbo heritage, tradition, and personalities of influence. His post was made in reflection on his recent presence at a high-profile burial in Nsugbe, Anambra State.

“When I charge you ₦20 million naira to make an appearance at your event, I do not come alone,” Edochie wrote. “I come with all my ancestors and ten thousand spirits from Nteje & Umudioka.” The actor, known for his dramatic flair and public declarations, crowned the post with titles he says he embodies: “EZEDIKE 1 na Nteje Aborgu” and “ISI MMILI JI OFOR 1 of Igbo Land.”

Edochie was referring to his attendance at the funeral of Barr. Tochukwu Nweke’s father, an event that drew prominent personalities from across the Southeast. Dressed in regal Igbo attire, the actor described his presence as more than just celebrity status—it was cultural, spiritual, and symbolic.

Reactions to his post have been mixed. Some fans praised him for upholding Igbo traditional spirituality in the public space, while others questioned the fee and tone, labeling it excessive. But for Edochie, who has recently ventured into spiritual leadership with his self-declared ministry, the persona of a mystical figure seems increasingly central to his brand.

This is not the first time the actor has stirred social media with his assertions. From declaring himself a prophet to launching an online spiritual platform, Edochie continues to blur the lines between celebrity, tradition, and divinity—often igniting nationwide conversations about culture, identity, and authenticity in Nollywood.

His latest declaration adds another layer to his evolving public image: no longer just an actor, but a self-styled ancestral envoy with a ₦20 million appearance tag.
