The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Imo State Chapter, held its executives’ election on Sunday, 6th March 2025. The election was held at the chapter’s meeting venue, Whelan Research Academy, Whetheral road, Owerri. It marked a significant milestone in the chapter’s history, as members gathered to elect new leaders who would steer the organization towards greater heights. After a keenly contested election, the new executives were announced, and they were sworn in to commence their tenure.
The electoral process for the association was overseen by Chairman Chidozie Chukwubuike and his assistant, Lolo Tessy-Francis Ofoegbu. Both Chukwubuike, a former ANA Imo Chairman, and Ofoegbu, the immediate past Vice Chairman, ensured the election’s transparency by clearly outlining the modalities for members.
Camilus Ukah, the Immediate Past National President and a National Representative for the election, addressed the newly elected executives, emphasizing their responsibilities and encouraging teamwork.
In the same vein, Barrister Felix Chikwere administered the oath of office to the new executives, charging them to promote literary excellence and impactful leadership as they embark on their new journey.
In his acceptance speech, newly sworn Chairman Collins Emeghara pledged to build upon the vision of ANA while introducing innovative initiatives to propel the chapter forward.

Ex- Officio: Chief Dr. Celestine Ibezute
The ANA Imo State Chapter has a rich history of producing talented writers, and the new executives are committed to sustaining this legacy. With their leadership, the chapter is poised to experience a new era of growth, creativity, and literary excellence.
