A Nairobi woman, identified as Ann Muthoni, has been arrested after a video surfaced online showing her threatening to shoot a property manager during a heated altercation at Legacy Heights Apartments in Dagoretti North. The incident, which occurred on February 18, 2024, quickly went viral, sparking widespread outrage and calls for her arrest.

In the video, Muthoni is seen engaging in a verbal confrontation with the property manager, hurling insults and threatening to shoot him. At one point, she is heard saying, “Bring my gun,” before dashing into her residence. The property manager attempts to de-escalate the situation, but Muthoni continues to issue threats, stating, “Do you know who I am? You don’t know who you’re messing with.”

Further footage shows Muthoni confronting the property manager in the building’s parking lot, this time in the presence of uniformed police officers. Despite their presence, she continues to threaten the manager, alleging she is well-trained and capable of using a firearm.

Following the video’s circulation, Muthoni was arrested and taken to Muthangari Police Station. Her nephew, Paul Maina, revealed that she has been battling depression since the loss of her husband in 2022. He stated that her mental health deteriorated last year, leading her to move out of her father’s house, sell her belongings, and block all her relatives. Her two children, aged 9 and 14, have not been attending school.

The incident has reignited discussions about mental health awareness and the importance of providing support to individuals struggling with psychological issues. It also highlights the need for stricter regulations on firearm possession and the dangers of threatening behavior.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter, and Muthoni is expected to face charges related to her threats and actions captured in the video.
